Our adventure in Stewardship
Hi, this is Ellie and Rebekah.
We did a school project that helped the neighborhood.
We did a unit on stewardship, stewardship means using and not
abusing what God has given us.
We cleaned our neighborhood sign.
We took off the letters on the
sign and cleaned them.
Once they were dry,
we made funny words
out of the letters.
sign and cleaned them.

This is Ellie, Mom and Dad.
E is for Ellie,
S is for Steve,
and T is for our last name.
Rebekah is holding the letters
while Dad drills them in.

finished.
Ellie felt important and proud.
Rebekah felt that we had done something good.
The neighbors kept saying even now how
a great job we did.
Stewardship goes with cleaning our
sign because now we don't have to
buy a new sign.

Lovely! Did you do it on the sly?
No. We didn't want the people in the neighborhood to think that we were going to take it apart and leave it apart.
We chose the closest paint colors to the original paint so that it wouldn't cause that much trouble and people would not fight over which color was better.
Before we even started on the sign, we delivered a note at each house explaining what we were going to do and why.
Everyone said a comment as they drove by. It was fun.

This project was so awesome. I got paint all over me...head to foot. So did all the other participants. In the end, we really, really enjoyed ourselves. Isn't it interesting that serving can be so much fun!!!

This is so gorgeous, girls. Great job!!
Good work, gang.
Now, for your next assignment, if you choose to accept...
Beautiful, kids! Half the fun of watching the process through pictures was seeing the progress on the sign. The other half of the fun was seeing you all growing up! Y'all are getting so tall and pre-teen looking...Nate is keeping up with you, Ellie. And Anna, Jack thinks you're cute, too!
Thanks for teaching us about stewardship, by example.
What a great post! I love seeing how you served your community. Isn't Jesus like that...doing the practical and ordinary in an extraordinary way. Such a blessing. I'm sure your diligent actions spoke volumes. Way COOL!! :)
