And I wish it was Maryland."

It makes more sense than you think. Often I've wished Virginia was the nasal cavity of the continental U.S.

Because... ? That'd be my question.

One of my recent favorites from my eldest, answering her dad...

Daddy: "This looks a lot like Mommy's book. Look at all these chapters!"

Sara: "Oh no. It's a lot more interesting."

So that's it. The early reviews. From a 10-year-old who hasn't even read my book.

This interview conducted over the breakfast table this morning.

Mom: "Honey, why do you want Maryland to be the tongue of the world?"

Daughter: "Because Maryland is at the tip of the United States."

Mom: "What does that have to do with being a tongue?"

Daughter: "'Cause I want the world to talk."

Mom: "What do you think the world might say?"

Daughter: " 'Stop leaving trash around.' "

Mom: "Anything else?"

Daughter: "Nope."

There you have it readers. Maryland speaks for the planet. Quit being such a slob.
