Salami Funk
I went on a week's vacation to the beach and came back to a kitchen that smells like salami.
I have not bought salami in all the 13 1/2 years that we've been married!
Calling Nancy Drew. I have a potential case.

I can sympathize...when we returned home after our visit with you (and multitudes of others), we opened our fridge to discover overripe zucchini smell, plus other soured varieties. I didn't know that vegies actually disintegrated into themselves. Blegh!
Our fridge had gone out. Why does that always happen when you are out of town?!
I'm in the convertible with George and Betsy on my way! Oh, and Hannah sent some stew. She thought with the terrible smell, you should stay out of the kitchen.
Hilarious. What other food groups contain the same sort of smell as salami...which is so packed with preservatives that it probably stays edible for a year? Small fermented goose or pig maybe trapped behind the fridge, fat-cured and sprinkled with fennel? Sounds like a reasonable explanation to me...
BYW, beautiful holidays pics. :)
I so enjoy sharing a bit of humor here. It always comes back to me ten-fold.
